HHM Vietnam Law Firm and Dong Kinh High School Jointly Organize a Legal Awareness Program

HHM Vietnam Law Firm and Dong Kinh High School Jointly Organize a Legal Awareness Program

In response to Vietnam Law Day (November 9th) — a day held to honor the Constitution, the law, and promote respect for legal compliance among all citizens — on the morning of November 3rd, 2025, HHM Vietnam Law Firm collaborated with Dong Kinh High School to organize a legal education and communication event for all students.

The program took place in a serious yet lively and meaningful atmosphere. With the goal of raising legal awareness among students, the session focused on two highly practical and important topics:

1. Preventing Cybercrime

In the digital era, students are frequent users of the internet and social media. However, not everyone fully understands the hidden risks, especially the concept of “Online Kidnapping.”

“Online Kidnapping” is actually a form of online scam. Cybercriminals create fake situations to manipulate victims psychologically, forcing them to cut off communication with the outside world in order to threaten or extort money from their families. In reality, no real kidnapping occurs — but victims are led to believe their loved ones are in danger and rush to transfer money as requested.

Message: “Don’t stay silent – Stay connected” and “If in doubt, stop – If worried, speak up.”

During the session, lawyers shared real-life cases of online violations such as spreading false information, invading privacy, and online fraud. They also provided practical guidance on protecting personal accounts, identifying suspicious activities, and behaving responsibly online, summarized as the ‘3 DON’Ts and 3 DOs’:

3 DON’Ts

-       DON’T follow secret-keeping requests

-       DON’T share personal or sensitive information or photos

-       DON’T click on strange links, join unfamiliar Zoom meetings, or meet strangers

3 DOs

-       DO block and report immediately

-       DO verify information carefully

-       DO talk to family or trusted adults

2. Preventing School Violence

School violence is not limited to fighting — it also includes psychological bullying, social isolation, and verbal abuse.

The session helped students understand the legal consequences outlined in:

Decree No. 130/2021/NĐ-CP on administrative penalties in child protection and social assistance,

Circular No. 19/2025/TT-BGDĐT (dated September 15, 2025) on student rewards and discipline,

Penal Code 2015

Students were also guided on how to prevent and respond to violence.
To build a healthy, violence-free learning environment, lawyers encouraged students to:

-       Sign a “No Violence Commitment” — no fighting, no filming violent acts, no posting harmful content online.

-       Form Safe Friendship Groups, where each student has at least one “buddy” to support them when conflicts arise.

-       Join school programs on life skills, communication, and anti-violence.

-       Remember the hotline 111 — the National Child Protection Hotline — or contact a teacher if help is needed.

Students were encouraged to foster a friendly, respectful, and supportive school community and to seek help whenever necessary.

Finally, a Q&A session took place in an open and lively atmosphere. Students asked many real-life questions, which the lawyers answered enthusiastically. The event combined seriousness and warmth, connecting legal education with everyday school life.
